Wow. This restaurant has such amazing food, I came here three days in a row. La Bamba Jarocha is not in the tourist area, and it seems as if mostly locals eat here. It's pretty much all seafood here so if that's your jam, this is the right spot. I ordered the most fresh, flavorful ceviche de pescado. It's probably the best ceviche I have ever had. I added some of the super spicy salsa they give you on top, and it was spectacular. The star dish of La Bamba Jarocha is the seafood stew. I kid you not, every single table had at least one bowl. And the bowls are huge! We had a small and almost didn't finish it. It's made with crab, fish, shrimp, octopus, and mussels. It's also available with melted cheese on top! This is a very inexpensive restaurant, especially for seafood. I would make a trip just to come eat here.
We also tried the mixed seafood paella, the seafood in it was cooked perfectly and it's definitely enough for two or more people. It is EXTREMELY hot in this restaurant. They have fans but we were sweating half to death while eating our soup. I would suggest going at dusk or nighttime. -

Amazing! The seafood tasted super fresh and was cooked perfectly. The 2 person grilled seafood dish was definitely enough or even more than enough for 2 people. The waitress we had checked up on us a bunch and was super friendly. The prices aren't terrible either.

This is a serious eatery . I've been here over 10 times .. if you love fish and sea food , especially Caribbean style AND affordable , this is the place to be in the greater area of playa del Carmen.
You will not regret this place .. and you will keep coming back .. I just Love the food here . Fresh fish or they tell you "we're out" .. if you are difficult to please and want something outside their menu , they will go the distance with You .. highly recommend this restaurant . One of my great finds .. -

Hey guys, I read the reviews so we walked over to this place. We ordered the cazuela de camarones and the coconut shrimp. We were total disappointed, and scratching our heads as to why this place was highly rated and also on a couple of top ten restaurants for PDC? The coconut shrimp was dry and the cazuela de camarones had no taste.
